Spirited Stories

In Ghost Stories by Melanie Cons

Human tragedies over the span of Chatham-Kent’s few hundred years of settlement have become the seed of spectral experiences and exciting story tours.

The tours feature spellbinding storytelling by local historians who take visitors to haunted city landmarks, private homes and schools and can speak freely and with knowledge that encourages awareness of local history. Choose from such tours as “The Haunted Heart of Chatham” or “Shades of the Past”. The tours are offered May to August.

One-hour ghost walks in downtown Chatham are led by lantern light with guides dressed in period costume and include site visits. In-town bus tours include step-on guests who weave a magic that no scary props can equal. Longer bus tours follow River Road where settlement began.

The popular Chatham Cemetery Walks are done in a highly respectful manner and take you through the oldest parts of local cemeteries. Tours are held in the two weeks previous to Halloween. Book by calling 519-351-2958 or email:
